View Full Version : Still looking for info about meganekko

I believe there are a few people here who can help me with the Meganekko
Gallery... ^_^

I want to get the "Other Meganekko" page cleared out altogether. (A
pipe dream, I know, but it's still worth trying for.) Here are two
lists of characters on that page. For all of these characters, I need
to know whether they wear their glasses all the time or only part of the
time. Some characters on these lists only have one name; I need their
family names as well. (I suppose I should check the usual sources for
full names, shouldn't I?)

I need descriptions of these characters:
HARADA Chie (Mai-HiME)
Remmy LEVI-STRAUSS (Geneshaft)
Lettuce MIDORIKAWA (Tokyo Mew Mew)
MISHIMA Kagome (Rikujo Boueitai Mao-chan)
ONODERA Hitomi (Seven of Seven)
TAKATO Yayoi (Prétear)
Chinami (Rikujo Boueitai Mao-chan)
Kurika (Dokkoida!?)
Miyako (Kannazuki no Miko)
Reiko (Kannazuki no Miko)

I need descriptions and images of these characters:
AOKI Hisae (Vampire Princess Miyu TV)
ALLUMAGE Francine (Gatekeepers)
HOSAKA Miyuki (Sentimental Journey)
KAMIKURA Ichiko (Hime-chan no Ribbon)
KOUNO Yui (Aquarian Age)
KUROGANE Megumi (Gatekeepers)
MIYAZAWA Miyuki (Nuku Nuku TV) [I assume Ethan can help here...]
NAKAZATO Minatsu (Slow Step)
RYUUZAKI Youko (Ojousama Sousamou / Debutante Detective Corps)
SAKIMORI Misao (Gatekeepers)
TAKAHASHI Tomomi (Azuki-chan)
Shoko (Hyper Doll)

There are eight more characters on the "Other Meganekko" page, but I
don't have names for them so I can't list them here... I need names and
descriptions of those eight meganekko, as well as a note indicating
whether they wear their glasses all the time or only part of the time.
The page is at <http://robkelk.ottawa-anime.org/meganekko/others.html>.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

(NOTE: Followups set to r.a.a.fandom in order to cut down on the
clutter in r.a.a.misc.)

Takato Yayoi is a friend of the main character of Pretear, Himeno. She
is often found near Himeno (frequently spying on her) while Himeno is
riding the waves of emotion, ready to interject a few almost tactless,
but usually right-on-target, comments about her relationship / love
life. And that's not to say that Yayoi has no designs of her own as far
as men go...

It's been a while since I've watched Pretear, but I think this is mostly
representative of her character... at least I hope it is. ^_^;;

The blue-haired cat-girl with glasses from
Magical Nyan Nyan Taruto is named "Natches",
or that's how it sounds to me.

It's Nachosu, or Nachos. But this character is actually a cat _boy_, so
I'm not sure if he belongs on the site. ^^;;

Rob, more than a few weeks ago, I did provide you information that the
previously-unknown woman from "Sugar" is Saga's teacher. I now found out by
going into the anime series' offical web site that she is known simply as
"Teacher." She has no name.

http://sugar.pioneeranimation.com/characters/teacher.htm

I hope this information helps.

Sorry about not delivering on the earlier bunch of info - I got kind of
burnt out.

For "Kakyuusei 2", there are actually 2 meganekko (plus potentially
more). The one you have pictured is Hirasawa Hiroko; the short blurb
given in the Megami article states that she's the token genius
character, a 2nd-year student with a cool and logical demeanour. The
other one is Yokomizo Fumi; she's apparently the school secretary (?),
an (quote) "intelligent and mature woman" (unquote). Yokomizo-san's pic
is on the way to your mailbox separately.

For "Sotsugyou Next Graduation":

(left) Nakamoto Azusa. Daughter of Nakamoto Shizuka (from the first
OAV). Has trouble interacting with others. Enjoys reciting/composing (?)
haiku.

(right) Shimura Moko. (Weird name...) Daughter of Shimura Mami. Is (I
think) no good at housework (yeah, my Japanese is pretty bad... "kaji
zenhan nan demo konasu" is the exact phrase used). Likes cosplay.

Here's a new section. I now have images and descriptions of these
meganekko, but need to know whether they're full-time or part-time:

NAKAMOTO Azusa * (Sotsugyou Next Graduation)
[was previously unnamed]
SHIMURA Moko * (Sotsugyou Next Graduation)
[was previously unnamed]
YOKOMIZO Fumi (Kakyuusei 2)
[new character]

* The only image I have of Azusa and Moko is of the two of them
together. I'd appreciate knowing a source for separate images of
them.

(Doesn't anyone know anything about these dozen meganekko?)

There are two more characters on the "Other Meganekko" page - one from
DearS (who might not _have_ a name), and one from Ikki Tousen - but I
don't have names for them so I can't list them here... I need names and

whether they wear their glasses all the time or only part of the time.

It's a Magical Girl Team show, but differs from Sailor Moon
in that they have wider variance in ages and gain their power
from "endangered species animals" instead of planets.

She's the sensible best friend of the main character, Nana. She's
constantly urging Nana to prepare for her high school exams, or
warning her that she'll never get close to the object of her crush by
acting like she does, or giving her reminders whenever she forgets
things (which is often). She's not as shy or withdrawn as her
bookish, sensible nature might imply, being a self-confident girl who
isn't afraid to give Nana a kick in the rear or a word of
encouragement, depending on what's required to keep her space-case
friend on track.

I rewatched episode 4 carefully, and it looks like this character
may be named "Riko" since one of the three girls at Ren's desk
introduces herself as that. The tall one is seen in profile
telling her name, and in the scene previous, the dark-haired
girl doesn't introduce herself, but has a different voice than
Riko, so logically, I would say the girl in your picture is
named "Riko." No other name at least as of episode 4. Also,
I can't read the closing credits to see if the characters are
listed there, but I assume there have to be credits.

From the episodes she appears in, she's always wearing glasses,
so I vote that she's a full-time meganekko.

Minatsu doesn't wear glasses except when she is in disguise as Maria Sato.

The story is that she first adopts this disguise to hide from local yakuza
who she has seen running over somebody in the road outside her home. She
reported a description of the car to the police and they found out, so now
she has to disguise herself just to go out. The problem is that one of her
neighbours, a yound boxing champ to boot, has fallen in love with her in
her disguised form and another boy loves her in her normal form. When they
find out about the disguise... well, I'll say no more than that. Don't
want to spoil it!

The series, based on the manga by Mitsuru Adachi, was released in the UK
by Western Connection in 1995, though right now I am unable to find a
picture online of Minatsu in her disguised form. I do have the tape
though, so I could scan it if you need it.

As for Shoko from HyperDoll, she is a school friend of the main
protagonists, though she is curious about Miyu and Maika (or Mew and Mica
if you prefer) and is somewhat jealous of any interest Akai shows for the
two aliens. There is a pic of Shoko and Akai at

from "Tenjou Tenge" a couple of days ago. Did you get that email? Oh,
and I've also just sent you a character description for FTimer Suzuki
Ikuyo from "Hanaukyo Maid Tai".
