Got a bunch of FF.net reviews. I'll get to the FFML Ranmafics soon,
honest!
Well, here we go... another batch of quick-reviews! My wife is getting
upset at me for reading so many Ranmafics, but I throw myself on that
particular grenade for you, my readers, so you can find only the best
Ranmafics on the net!

Synopsis:
When Genma decides to take Ranma on their ten year training trip, he is
goaded into taking Akane along with them. Ten years later, they arrive
at the Tendo Dojo, cursed with oposite gender curses, only to learn of
the engagement. This causes some emotional problems for the couple who
have always seen each other as a brother or sister. Life doesn't stand
still to wait for them to resolve their 'issues,' Amazons, Kunos, and
old rivals show up to make their lives difficult.
HomerNet's Review:
This fic is surprisingly long, given it's 17 chapters on FF.net,
requiring a large block of time to take it all in. However, what
appears to be just another blasse retelling of the Ranma storyline turns
into something quite different by the end. At times deadly serious,
generally upbeat, and occationally frightening, this fic is an excellent
offering to the Ranmafic scene.
Newbie's viewpoint - If you expect to see just "Akane has a curse,
teehee" in this fic, you will be very disapointed. A very well
developed story in spite of it's occational errors, this fic deals with
love, insanity, murder, and sexuality. A good read if you're looking
for a good altiverse fic, but not your traditional Ranma story.
Fanfic Hobbyist's viewpoint - Definetly worth the read, especially if
you've exhausted all the standard Ranmafics. (continuations,
divergences, oneshots, etc.)
Ranmafic Obsesive's viewpoint - While not on the level of some of the
other sagas that get Ranma and Akane together, (I'm thinking here of
Hearts of Ice, specifically) this is a very good fic if you can ignore
some of the more... inexperienced errors in writing. Perhaps what will
draw the Obsesive to this fic is the very serious treatment of the
Kunos, a pair that are usually ignored even in some of the epic fics as
anything other than comic releif.

The author bills this as a humor fic, I don't see it as funny, per se,
but it is well written. Unfortunetly, the brevity of the posted
chapters prevents this fic from becoming truely engaging.
Newbie's viewpoint - This particular fic is a "must have read the Manga"
story, as it draws on some important elements of the manga in it's basic
storyline. Beyond that, it should be an interesting read.
Fanfic Hobbyists viewpoint - While well written, without more chapters,
this fic is nothing you haven't seen before. It may be worth the read
if you have some time to kill.
Ranmafic Obsesive's viewpoint - You've seen this before. Wait for more
of the story to be written before you invest your time in it.
Overall entertaining, but the incomplete nature of the fic makes it
difficult to invest emotionally. I actually had to skim over both
chapters /and/ read the FF.net synopsis before I remembered what this
one was supposed to be about.

magical device. The result being that he no longer transforms, but he's
stuck in an alternate universe as Ranko Xiawang, long-lost student of
Haposai in her own brand of Anything-Goes martial arts. To make matters
worse, she has a chance at getting home, but /only/ if the Ranma Saotome
of this universe declares openly that he loves Ranko.
HomerNet's Review:
OMG, /funny!/ Unlike other fics of this nature, (Ranma is stuck as a
girl) Eviris manages to keep the fun going by turning everything in the
Ranmaverse on it's head while still telling a good story. Only
occationally relying on Ranmafic cliche's, (Ryoga's random appearance at
the begining, for example) this fic serves up an excellent story without
repeating other author's efforts.
Newbie's viewpoint - Much like your favorite sci-fi show that has an
episode that shows an alternate universe, this fic presents a great
alternative to Ranma 1/2 without being mindlessly repetitive. Loads of
actual creative thought has been poured into this fic, and the
cliffhangers will leave you begging for more.
Fanfic Hobbyist's viewpoint - The concept of the altiverse is nothing
new, and neither is throwing your favorite character into an
almost-but-not-quite altiverse. This fic avoids most of the pitfalls of
most altiverse fics, especially as concerns Ranko's interactions with
those around her.
Ranmafic Obsessive's viewpoint - Definetly to be put on your "to read"
list if you haven't already. Ranko (old Ranma) is emotional,
conflicted, and yet determined, while her friends are more than
one-dimensional characatures that function as only window dressing. A
bit of Anti-Akane-ism in some parts, but this can be excused as this
/is/ an altiverse fic, and Ranko's memories of her Akane are generally
positive.

Shotgun Wedding

by Kasumi and Nabiki, who help them elope that very day. Now, how is
the /rest/ of Nerima going to react to this?
HomerNet's review:
FINALLY! A Ranma/Akane-getting-it-on(about-damn-time) fic that doesn't
devolve even to the point of "lime." And very well done, too. Fiochan
brilliantly weaves together a story that is poignant and fun.
Newbie's viewpoint - This may be one of those perfect continuations for
newbies to pick up. No advanced concepts beyond "actions have
consequences," no save-the-world plot, just the Nerima Wrecking Crew
dealing with a sudden change.
Fanfic Hobbyist's viewpoint - This is the perfect fic for anyone who has
read a Ranma/Akane lemon story that has no consequences for anyone. You
/know/ what they did that night, you /don't/ need another "virgin
writing a porno" story, you *do* want a good Ranma/Akane story. This
delivers.
Ranmafic Obsessive's viewpoint - Put this as a low priority on your "to
read" list. It's not great, but it's almost great.

Ranmafic Obsessive's viewpoint - One of the better SPAMfics out there,
certainly an enjoyable diversion.
