AUTHOR'S FOREWORD: Here are some haiku as they might be written by a
few of the characters from "Maison Ikkoku". Some of them refer to
specific manga scenes, while others are more independent. The former
ones are placed in rough chronological order.
There are a few remarks within parenthesis for editorial purpose, to
point to context for the readers' benefit. Plain titles are supposed to
be written by the characters.
I've mostly tried for the traditional seven-five-seven syllable format,
but have abandoned it in some places, when I felt an irregular version
captured the spirit better.
Contructive criticism on these points - as on content - would be much
appreciated.
DISCLAIMER: The characters and situations of "Maison Ikkoku" were
created and are owned by Rumiko Takahashi. They are used here without
permission.

The temple bells toll,
I hear them say but one thing:
'You must find a job.'
