Welcome to the Yasumi Con Newsletter! Anime Con Season is now upon
us! With YasumiCon only three months away, we're getting excited here
at FIU's anime club. For more info on Pre-Registration, events,

Our newest events is a
Sushi Demonstration / Sushi Domo
Ever wonder how you can make your own sushi? Mitsutoshi Sekita is
here to show you how to make sushi rolls & nori! Learn to make sushi
and get free sushi samples while your there!
Costume Contest
Here are the newest costume contst entries. Good luck on the
competition!

Chandra - Chii from Chobits!
Charlene - Kikyo from Inu-yasha
Maria - Misato from Neon Genesis Evangellion
Chandra - Yazuki or Chii costume from Chobits
Cosplay Contest
Cosplay groups with up to 12 people each can compete in Yasumi Con's
Cosplay Contest. Recreate your favorite roll or make up your own!
Web Comics
Artists with webcomics talk about their respective websites, how they
started, and answer questions on making your own online web comic.

Anime Trivia & Name That Tune
Yasumicon will have several gameshow type games. We will randomly
pick people from the crowd and they can participate in games like
Anime Trivia and Name That Tune!
Japanese Fashion Show
If you have a kimono, martial arts gi, asian silk dress, schoolgirl
outfit, etc. sign up for the Fashion show! Anyone wearing Japanese
clothing or asian inspired clothing can participate.
The Cultural Differences Between Japan and United States
Explaining how Japanese culture is different from U.S.'s comparing
language, education system, life style and so on. This will make you
better understand the way of Japanese thinking and feeling.
