I am doing project in school showing the diferences of portrayal of
girls and women in anime and American animation. Could anyone please
give me clips that I could compare and contrast with? Recent Disney
movies, on the AMerican side I was thinking of, in particular, but I
am interested in anything and everthing. Thank you.

A good American animated series for comparison purposes might be 'Gargoyles',
which aired in the late 1990s and was produced by Disney. It may be the closest
thing to an American-produced anime that there has been yet. It featured a
serious, on-going arc type storyline and interesting characters.

You can find some video clips at http://avalon.gargoyles-fans.org/main.shtml .
