About the Anime Fanfic Awards:
The Anime Fanfic Awards were created with the intention to recognize the hard
work and enthusiasm by dedicated fans of the Japanese Anime industry. Obviously
fans of this genre receive little to no financial rewards for their efforts and
recognition is just as hard to come by. These awards are an attempt to rectify
this lack of recognition.
The Anime Fanfic Awards are based on the choices of the fanfic community.
Nominations come from the authors and artists themselves, and the general
public is then asked to vote on what they believe is the best.
Since the Anime fanbase has broadened exponentially in the past decade, the
belief is that fanfics of similar genres should be considered with each other,
instead of limiting them by series. Hence, there are more than two dozen
categories available.
