....my website will be moving in the near future. This means that, once
I get the files migrated, there will be no more popup ads when you read
the web-version FAQs for these two newsgroups.

I'm investigating ways to get some sort of revenue in, to pay for the
webhosting. The best thing I've come up with so far is signing up for
one of the "affiliate program" deals, probably with Right Stuf, and
putting links into the Anime Primer so people can buy anime online while
subsidizing the website. However, most of the Primer's content was
written by other people who didn't expect it to be used for commercial
purposes. So the question must be asked:

Do any of the contributors to the Anime Primer have a problem
with me adding "affiliate program" links to the Primer?

While I'm waiting for that question to be answered, I've put a
placeholder page at <http://robkelk.ottawa-anime.org>. And I've put
Brian Dinnigan's gift to me onto that placeholder page (thanks, Brian,
it's beautiful!) so that there's something more than just a "coming
soon" message there.

I'd like to thank Jeanne Hedge and "Dr. Raven" again for hosting mirrors
of parts of my old Tripod site. Thanks again, both of you!

Once again, don't change your bookmarks, favourites, and links now - the
new site isn't ready yet. This is just a "heads up" so you know what's
going to happen! I'll make a formal announcement to these groups,
rec.arts.anime.misc, alt.anime, and aus.arts.anime once
<http://robkelk.ottawa-anime.org> is really ready.

As a contributor, no, I don't have a problem with it. There's nothing
wrong with trying to cover your costs. The only point where I would be
concerned is if you decided to charge to view the faqs.

You are most welcome.

Thanks - that's once voice heard from. (And I have absolutely no
intention of charging to read the FAQs. While I'm not quite in the
"information wants to be free" camp, I'm closer to it than the
"information wants to be $29.99 plus GST" camp.)

So, does anyone else like the picture Brian drew for me?

Doesn't bother me. Of course, I only have one article in the Primer.

Yes, and how appropriate to the current season. Happy Ho Ho!

I, for one, don't have a problem with that. (contributed the Tenchi Uni,
Tenchi in Tokyo, and the Tenchi movie entries)

money!!!
I was just asked by someone I was buying a cel from to pay $10.95 postage
for a $1.60 e-bay airmail shipping so I'dd have to say information want's
to be free but most don't mind paying a resonable price for a reasonable
amount....
Which is why I actually own an a.f.bgc hat :)

it's the volenteer of a few bucks which I don't ever mind doing for a
good cause as opposed to that sort of Jack-the-rippering that the person
selling the cel is expecting.
- sorry n a teeny Christmas rant.

My Fave YUA character.... :)

I like the light quality of it and am hesitating to say the next thing...
ah hell it's never stopped me before...

I think one of the charms of this picture is the fact that it's simple
black and white...
I honestly don't know if a color version of the same pic would have the
same nice "cute" view.
water-colors?
possibly.

Anyway, yes I like it.

-although I DO want to know what's in the package :)

That "near future" is today.

The Tripod website is still up, and will be for a while, but I don't
plan to update it any more. Please change your bookmarks.

The new site is at:
<http://robkelk.ottawa-anime.org>
It has all the content of the old site, including the FAQs for both of
these newsgroups.
