Of course, I can't write fiction to save my life, but this might be
useful to the talented writers of this group. The NY Times of
01/09/2003 has an article on the Japanese "Yonigeya". These are
people who help others disappear. Kind of a private-sector witness
protection program.
Usual clients are debtors escaping loan sharks and victims of domestic
abuse.
Such a service may be an interesting device for a fanfic writer.
Maybe Ranma and Nodoka need to hide from an abusive Genma, or
something.
I hope to eventually read a fanfic in which this service figures
prominently.
