Have had an idea for a Ranma Alt-Universe knocking around in my head for the last week or so, and hope that one of you could help out. I really don't think I could write it myself, so I'm looking for someone else to take my idea and develop/write it themselves.
I'd even sent the idea to one of my favorite authors on FanFiction.net - MZephyr, who gave me another idea and suggested I look for a forum to post the idea on.
The idea is simple - it could have been one of those Bet entries - instead of falling into the Nyannichuan, Ranma falls into the Spring of Drowned Diplomatic Young Woman (Kasuminiichuan for lack of a better name).
Ranma's guy form would be the same arrogant, ignorant Martial Arts jock we all know and love. His girl form on the other hand...would look the same, but be quiet, calm, polite, diplomatic, almost pacifistic, would recognise the use of words and social skills, and be eager to learn skills other then Martial Arts. She can also express herself, unlike the stoic Ranma-kun. This would enable him/her to talk his/her way out of any Amazon Kisses (but not out of fighting Shampoo - can't avoid Genma eating the prize after all. The fight would be the day after to give the combatants time to rest, involve immunity to the Kisses, and Ranma would be in guy form - though he'd have trouble in either form from chauvanism in guy form or pacifism in girl form), and would also mean a better impression at the Tendos. The more socially skilled Ranma-chan would also be able to get the Fathers to back off on the engagement and allow Ranma and the Tendo daughters to decide for themselves at their own pace who Ranma will marry.
The way I see the characters:
Ranma-kun - unchanged to start with, but will notice how differently people react to his girl form's socially minded actions, and will start to pick up social skills on his own.
Ranma-chan - Looks the same, but acts kind of like Kasumi, or Ami (Sailor Mercury) - quiet, polite, diplomatic, studious. During the initial meeting with the Tendos, Ranma-chan will suggest going to school as a girl, as Ranma-kun doesn't care for school and won't learn anything.
Kasumi - unchanged
Nabiki - basically unchanged. Easily pulls the wool over Ranma-kun's eyes, but Ranma-chan turns the tables on her. This means no pictures of Ranma-chan without her consent, and definately no dirty pictures at all.
Akane - Calmer then normal, due to not walking in on Ranma-kun, Ranma not walking in on her, and the more tactful, socially minded and honest Ranma-chan.
Shampoo - if used after the village, will be chasing Ranma for herself and not because of the Kisses - since it was agreed that no Kisses would be given at the Village. Otherwise basically unchanged, though slightly toned down due to having no real claim on him.
Cologne - The Elder Ranma-chan speaks to while setting up the fight with Shampoo. If Happosai or Shampoo turn up in Nerima, so will she.
Mousse - If Shampoo comes to Nerima, he will follow.
Ryoga - Once he finds out about Ranma's curse, will refuse to fight Ranma-chan, and will consider Ranma-kun as having run away if he gets changed while fighting. When adopted as P-chan, Ranma-chan will give him an ultimatum - tell Akane about the curse before the end of his next three visits, or she will tell.
Kuno - basically the same.
Kodachi - Not quite as hostile to Ranma-chan, but basically the same.
Happosai - If used, Ranma would have to come up with some brilliant plan to beat him. Ranma-kun would have no problems beating on him, but Ranma-chan's pacifism would render her almost useless.
