View Full Version : [FFML] [info] A handy resource for writers: "Common Errors in English"

The Eternal Lost Lurker

Everyone on the FFML needs to bookmark this site:

http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html#errors

And refer back to it when writing and ESPECIALLY when proofreading your own
work (which a lot of you don't do and should be doing).

This site covers all the most common mistakes people make when abusing the
English language: everything from the mundane (your/you're; its/it's) to the
less obvious (backward/backwards), and popular mistakes which have long been
regarded by many otherwise intelligent people as proper English ("another
thing coming").

If you've ever been unsure of yourself when writing--hell, even if you ARE
absolutely sure of yourself--and ESPECIALLY if you actually believe "you've
got another thing coming" is the right expression--YOU NEED THIS SITE.

So bookmark it, study it, make love to it, have babies with it.

We'll ALL benefit from it.

As for the PS3 being "an engineering
masterpiece"--so was the Spruce Goose.

That turkey didn't fly either
